Corinth UM Church is part of the Three Notch'd District of the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church

“We moved to this area for jobs. We are far away from our families geographically. Corinth and its people have become our home away from home and our family here.”

"The people and staff at Corinth made us feel loved, wanted, and like family. Walking in, we felt safe and like we were not an inconvenience. Worship made us feel welcomed, just as we were, no strings or expectations attached."

"Corinth is a place with community, kindness and unconditional love, where you can have faith again, not just in God, but in yourself and others."

Our Team

  • Pastor Teresa Smith lives to bring the bible to life in worship, preaching and teaching. She has a deep appreciation for walking with people on their faith journeys, persevering on the path from suffering to transformation and living in joy. On her Sabbath days you can find her hiking in the woods or sitting by a waterfall. She is a life-long learner, called by God to be a catalyst, to use her powers for good and for God. She is author of “Through the Darkest Valley: The Lament Psalms and One Woman’s Lifelong Battle Against Depression.” It is a memoir detailing the author’s struggle with depression and how she found strength and healing through faith, particularly through the Lament Psalms. In 2006, she received a Doctor of Ministry degree in Story and Spirituality with a concentration in the Psalms and Suffering.
  • Administrative Assistant Sue Buck is available M-W 8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. and Thursdays 8:30 a.m. – Noon. She is our chief communicator, membership secretary, sound booth coordinator and receptionist. She holds great historical knowledge.
  • Music Director Diana Greer is both our musician and our Music Director. She enthusiastically leads us in worship, joyfully assists our children in singing and playing instruments, leads the Thursday night choir, and handbell choir, and does so much more.
  • Neighborhood Night Lead Parent Courtney Walker is our Summer Camp leader, co-coordinator in the Neighborhood Night program and a parent of two fine young men.
  • Sexton Kevin Wagner is on hand to help our building stay clean and safe.
